Many changes took place within the past three years within and around the Executive Secretariat of the IUS. The Headquarters are merely operational hindering the daily work of the ES members remaining in Prague. Zakaria Abdourahamane and Samwin Banienuba are the ones who still uphold the idea of our mutual organisation, besides suffering of no income and no health care.
A comprehensive report about all changes which lead to the current situation will be part of the consultations leading to the 17th Congress. Besides you all might reconsider reading the circular letters sent out in the past.
This year two member unions of the ES nominated successors into their elected positions.
The German National Union of Students - fzs nominated Ingo Jäger, from Hannover/Germany, for being the Regional Secretary for European, North American and other industrialist Countries (CENAC) in March '97.
Recently the Canadian Federation of Students - CFS came back as well. In September they elected Jennifer Story for being Secretary of Women's Equality & Rights (DIWER).
