EDITORIAL

Dear Friends,

welcome back to the "IUS Update".

For quite a long time you have not been receiving the "IUS Update" due to all the limitations which have made it difficult for the Executive Secretariat to continue its publication. Nevertheless we have never thrown in the sponge. On the contrary we continued exploring all possible avenues to keep up regular publication of our "IUS Update".

Distributing information on the world student movement and on what students conduct in their respective countries empowers ourselves to develop a mutual understanding.

This is the base for building international solidarity.

Therefore the "IUS Update" offers you a medium to inform and to know about each other's concerns. It raises the awareness around students' issues and contributions to the current problems of our societies.

There is a lot more to say about this publication, however, let us welcome its comeback. Its comeback is good but much better will be its sustainability and enrichment.

A few words on this issue. In light of the International Students Day, we focus on repression of students fighting for their rights in different parts of the planet.

Now more than ever before, we like to see the bigger majority of our member and friendly unions joining the efforts by giving contributions to revitalise the IUS and guaranteeing the regularity of our publication.

For the next time please remember:

"Sharing information creates solidarity!"

Yours Executive Secretariat
